Equipping America’s Faith Leaders to Defend Their Religious Freedom

Introducing The National Council for Religious Freedom

The National Council for Religious Freedom is an ecumenical coalition of America's faith leaders committed to defending all Americans' constitutionally protected right to religious freedom. Since the very founding of our great nation, religious freedom has been seen as an inalienable right for all Americans.

However, many are concerned by what appears to be a growing and concerted effort to restrict and redefine religious freedom in ways our Founders and the Constitution never intended. The National Council for Religious Freedom was formed to engage and support America's faith leaders and the communities and institutions they serve. The National Council for Religious Freedom believes that America's faith leaders can and should lead the way in defending religious freedom for all Americans.

Sadly, many faith leaders in America are not properly educated on their rights, nor are they adequately equipped to know how to protect and defend their constitutional rights publicly. The work of the NCRF is vital to our country's future. The National Council for Religious Freedom is registered as a faith-based non-profit in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is a US501(C)3 applicant.

Join us at The National Council for Religious Freedom as we work to defend religious freedom for every American.

Educating & Equipping Faith Leaders

Clergy Education is the primary function of the NCRF. This education is provided through free online training opportunities for faith leaders across the country. Not only should clergy and faith community leaders understand the rights granted to them in the 1st Amendment of our Constitution, but the NCRF believes that every faith leader should be educated and equipped to proactively defend their fundamental human rights, including the right to freely and peacefully conduct religious worship. The NCRF is committed to providing a platform for education and relevant resources for faith leaders regardless of their denomination or tradition. As an ecumenical body rooted in the American tradition, the NCRF is committed to supporting religious freedom for ALL Americans, regardless of their faith.

Defending Religious Freedom for All Americans

Since our nation's founding, America has been a place of refuge and freedom for people who wanted to worship God as their conscience saw fit. Guided by their Judeo-Christian traditions and faith and the hand of Providence, the founders of the United States recognized the first and fundamental freedom was to protect the free and peaceful exercise of religion. It is no wonder that many see Religious freedom as the very cornerstone upon which our Constitutional Republic was built.

Defending the peaceful, free exercise of religion includes supporting the building of houses of worship, religious and educational institutions, faith-based schools, hospitals, and community centers. While the council members disagree on theology, they are united in their common defense of the constitution, which provides freedom for all Americans.

By working together to protect and preserve the tremendous constitutional protections, the American people have been so richly blessed with, all faith communities benefit when one faith community is defended.

Supporting Public Expressions of Faith

The constitutionally protected free exercise of religion is not only limited to houses of worship.

No American should ever have to feel like they have to leave their faith at the door of their school or place of employment. The NCRF is committed to defending religious freedom for all Americans in every area of life. Specifically, the NCRF is proactively monitoring and encouraging religious freedom in education, healthcare, the military, and in corporate environments.

From parental rights in education to supporting freedom of conscience protections for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other medical professionals, from praying on the battlefield to the boardroom, defending religious freedom goes beyond corporate activity in houses of worship.
